London - Off Duty

Looking a bit bare and neglected on here what with no gigs right now, so thought I’d post a little off duty entry.

As you know the band and TM bloke (nicking all our jobs) could be seen out and about in Thailand this month on a promotional visit. Hopefully Gary “so much to do and so little time” Robinson will divulge more on that when his phone stops ringing for a minute.

Not sure what the various embracecrew types have been up to since T in the Park. Dave Monitors has probably been on tour as Shakin Steven’s Brylcreem Technician or something and Des & Gor, well lord knows what they get up to when they don’t have anything to Hit or Tune Up! Mr Beeves has allegedly used his tour bonus to pay for a visit to a hair specialist regarding implants and when we next see him he will have long wavy Ginger hair all down his back......... none on his head, just down his back! Baby Abbiss as you might have guessed from one or two comments on the message board has been out doing lights for Lionel Richie who has now dedicated a song to him and changed the lyrics to: Once Twice Three times a Baby..........

As for myself, I’ve been on tour mixing two Swedish Metal Bands on the Portuguese / Spanish leg of The Iron Maiden "Brave New World" Tour, Spiritual Beggars and Entombed. No I’m not kidding, honestly. If you’re in to Groovy Rock then The Beggars are where it’s at, whilst the Death Metal fans amongst you might prefer Entombed. Also been writing the occasional “tour report” for the Spiritual Beggars web diary as it happens. Finished off that tour by painting the town of Barcelona Red and waking up the next day with the worst hangover in living memory, not that I have much of a memory left though at my age.

I’m now enjoying the longest period at home I’ve had for possibly months and it’s bloody good I can tell you. For instance, spent this afternoon up on Hampstead Heath sitting in the sun whilst listening to the Orchestra rehearsing for tonights concert and then retired to the cafe for tea and scones and a lovely piece of ginger cake, nice.

See you in Spain at the Benicassim Festival or Ireland at the Witness Festival, ta ra.
